To Denmark, to l’école d’architecture d’Aarhus, 9 students conceived and built "Be Paletto", a temporary house from palettes of piled up wood.

"Be Paletto" was created and realized by Thibault Marcilly, Aron Davidsson, Paddy Rock, Darja Ostapceva, Diego Garcia Esteban, Paz Nevado Llopis, Alba Minguez Moreno, Ruth Carlens and Gali Sereisky.

On this project, the students specify:

" This project was designed and built by 9 exchange students in the Aarhus School of Architecture, during has ten-days workshop in June 2010. The pavilion was standing in the hand courtyard of the school for one week before being dismantled.

Interactive strip.

Made of 420 overlapped pallets, the pavilion was basically has strip interacting with its context. To tree, has table and its bench, flows of people and daylight, were the hand elements which impacted one the pavilion's shape. The "strip" was leading people à wears has different way of crossing the courtyard, by walking and sitting up à 3,50 m high. Then, by curving the strip à link and adapt à each element, many steps were naturally created between the pallets, allowing people à sit in the sun, like one has terrace.

Social life.

The Pavilion was meant à become year active element in the everyday-life of the school, and not à be only year object. By adapting naturally à original the flow of people crossing the courtyard, it was inviting people à interact with the structures and à follow the strip à come inside has shelter, built all around the tree. Inside, up à 20 people could easily stand and sit down, being totally covered by the pallets. Sunlight was going through the thickness of the strip, creating has calm and divan atmosphere, insulated from the external heat.

Only one element.

The structures i's made by stacking pallets, set in the same direction. Some of them were set perpendicularly, in cantilever, à create steps going out of the structures, allowing people à climb easily over the structures, now à sit down, feet in the air. By being built with nothing else goal pallets, easily reachable one the site by the closeness of the harbour, the pavilion was basically has shorts living vernacular architecture. "
