24.09.19 Estúdio AMATAM: Islamic Cultural Center of Colinas do Cruzeiro

To satisfy a growing religious community, the Portuguese city of Odivelas commissions the Estúdio AMATAM local studio an Islamic cultural center. A spiritual temple with a minimalist and contemporary aesthetic where reflection, meditation and conversation are in order.

The architects of the French agency Tectone erect a brutalist box in the residential area in Malakoff (92). Through a project to raise a pavilion, the builders imagine a townhouse with identity and volumes marked.

Soap: new star of design? This is indeed the trend that seems to rise in our bathrooms, and it is certainly not the French brand Dessein who will say the opposite! Similar to small contemporary totems, these soap bars combine aesthetics and ethics through handmade production using organic ingredients.

On the occasion of the London Design Festival, French designer Camille Walala dresses the streets of the British capital with colorful urban furniture elements. Each year, the European Heritage Days show the general public the wealth of the French architectural and artistic heritage. 19.09.19 Event: Design, Breton Escales

The cities of Quimperlé and Landerneau (29), as well as the Superior School of Art of Brittany join forces to address the specificity and diversity of a Breton design. The exhibition "Design, Escales bretonnes" celebrates local figures, from the Bouroullec brothers to Florence Doléac and the new generation of designers. A dive in the heart of Armorican creation.

The city of Nanterre (92) sees a project of a new kind come out of the ground. Integrated in the transformation of the University district, the Miriam Makeba School Group, signed toa | associated architects, is in fact the first realization in raw earth of Île-de-France. An ecological and aesthetic bias that gives rise to a building with explosive texture games.

Based in Athens (Greece), the designer Savvas Laz is quickly struck by the accumulation of waste from his hometown, including the lack of proper recycling facility. A shock to which the designer responds with the Trashformers series, a collection of furniture designed from recycled materials found on the street. An ethical and aesthetic series.

16.09.19 Jean-Pierre Lott Architect: Villa Troglodyte

Capital of all madness, the city of Monaco inaugurates an extraordinary villa signed Jean-Pierre Lott Architect. Hidden in a rock nestled between two sets of housing, the house with the air of a naughty landmark combines atypical spaces, exceptional volumes and cleverly integrated light. A unique troglodyte construction.

13.09.19 Event: Jean Tinguely at the Vallois Gallery

At the beginning of the school year, the Paris-Georges-Philippe & Nathalie Vallois gallery (6ème arrondissement), specialized in the contemporary period and the New Realism, exhibits sculptures made by Jean Tinguely in the 1970 years. Mixed disparate assemblages of objects, the creations chosen for this exhibition reveal the subversive and fanciful aspects of his work.

12.09.19 The Swedish Institute: Hem x 6

As part of the new season of the Swedish Design Moves Paris, the Swedish Institute (3ème arrondissement) presents for the first time to the general public the recent rehabilitation of the apartments of his residence. Six duos of brands and designers have redesigned the private apartments of the Hôtel de Marle, a listed monument. An unusual dive into the world of Swedish hem in the heart of Paris.

11.09.19 JCPCDR Architecture: The Observatory

Since 4 years, the Community of communes of Lake Annecy (74) sources organizes an international call for projects in order to promote the exceptional environment and materials of the region. Entitled "The Festival of Cabins", the competition has notably rewarded the ephemeral cabin project signed JCPCDR. An observatory all dressed in wood to apprehend the wilderness of a water point like no other.

11.09.19 LGS Studio: Tephra

Directly inspired by the volcanic landscapes of Mount St. Helens (USA), the Californian studio LGS imagine a series of decorative objects retrading the imperfections winding paths and hot stone stratovolcano Washington State. A subtle work of ceramics in which the many defects contribute to shaping the aesthetics.
