ROCA

At the origin of its activity, Roca produced cast iron radiators for domestic heating in its factory in Gavà, near Barcelona. After these first radiators, the company broadens its offer with the production of water heaters. In 1929, Roca entered the bathroom sector by starting the production of bathtubs. Always attentive to social changes related to water, the main natural resource with which Roca works, the company undertakes in 1936 to take up the challenge of producing bathroom elements in vitreous china. Then, in 1954, Roca launched into the production of valves. In the 90s, the Group took a first step towards international expansion, mainly based on the establishment of commercial branches and the signing of agreements with leading brands at the local level. In addition to Portugal and France, Roca's presence is starting to expand into the UK, Germany, Italy, Russia, Morocco, Argentina, Brazil and China. The decisive point in the internationalization process took place in 1999, with the acquisition of the Swiss company Keramik Holding Laufen, the world's number four manufacturer at that time. The acquisition of Laufen allows the Group to strengthen its position in strategic markets where the brand was less present, such as Eastern Europe, Brazil and the United States. In 2005, Roca announced an ambitious strategic plan focused on bathroom spaces, which earned it the world domination of the sector in 2006. Today, Roca's sales network spans 135 countries, with 76 factories of production and more than 20.000 employees around the world.
