For the theme of its fourth edition, the annual review Pli - after tackling the conflicts last year -, today chooses to explore issues related to the subject. Whether it is first, architectural, narrative, graphic or even culinary, it comes in testimonials, articles, storytelling, graphics and other collaborations. A transdisciplinary approach for emerging creative questions.

15.02.19 Martín Dulanto: Topo House

Discrete in appearance, the Topo House is finally much larger than it seems! Designed by the architect Martín Dulanto in the Lima hills (Peru), the main objective of the project is to minimize damage to the environment when building a home. A good example of responsible realization.

13.02.19 Torafu Architects: Aesop

Definitely, the shops of Australian cosmetics brand Aesop are real playgrounds for architects! After having left it to the Norwegian agency Snøhetta to draw their stall in the Chelsea neighborhood (United Kingdom), the firm entrusts the design of its new store in Tokyo (Japan) to local architects: Torafu Architects. The result is a set that reflects the neighborhood of Shibuya where it sits, between old and contemporary.

18.02.19 Labotory: Sappun Flagship Store

To celebrate the success of a brand, what better than to dedicate a shop to the height of its ambitions? For its fourth store, the shoe brand Sabbun wants to assert their identity in a concept in line with the evolution of their brand. The architecture and design agency Labotory therefore takes the visual codes that made the success of the other three stores to design a visionary space in Seoul (Korea): a futuristic look, between curves and dysmetry.

14.02.19 Espen Surnevik: Våler Kirke Church

Revive a church from its ashes? This is the bet that was launched the architecture agency Espen Surnevik responsible for replacing the historic bell tower of Våler (Norway), destroyed in a fire there is 10 years. A building full of meaning that restores faith to the inhabitants of the small Scandinavian village.

The architecture firm BIG presents 79 & Park, a series of housing units located in Stockholm, Sweden, on cascading penates, exposing residents to an unobstructed view of the park and the city. Result? A rhythmic construction, brilliantly integrated into the urban fabric.

15.02.19 Sinziana Velicescu: On the Periphery

Although Los Angeles (USA) makes many dream, the life of a native can quickly become alienating, he who spends more time in the car traffic than skateboarding Venice Beach. And if it is by car that one travels LA, this is also where the local photographer Sinziana Velicescu draws her inspiration. Or when human interactions give way to the contemplation of the urban landscape.

14.02.19 Lee Broom: Observatory

Soberly titled Observatory, the new collection by British designer Lee Broom brings together luminaries inspired by the astral universe in four lines with evocative names: Eclipse, Orion, Aurora and Tidal. An ode to the poetic heavens.

12.02.19 Chang-Tsung Feng: Fish Trap House

The Fish Trap House, designed by Taiwanese artist Cheng-Tsung Feng, is a bamboo installation located on Sun Moon Lake in Nantou, Taiwan. The visual artist transforms a common utility object, the fish trap, into an aesthetic and light realization highlighting ancestral techniques.
