Croixmariebourdon architectures : Halle de Marché de Cachan

As part of the development of future-Arcueil Cachan the Grand Paris Express station, the City of Cachan appealed to the agency Croixmariebourdon Architectures to rebuild Halle Market. First building constructed as part of the urban redevelopment project, this equipment is intended to accommodate a surface 1500m² forty traders.

To ensure the revival of the neighborhood make this project a central element in the new organization, the architects played on the heights, materials and light. Integrated into the landscape, the market is in the hillside leaning against an embankment. This volume of drawn and carved wood adapts to its context and draws future esplanade. With windows dressing the east and west facades, Hall is bathed in natural light. Its structure combines natural wood and large windows while inside the green and yellow colors alternate to discuss the stalls of vegetable. The wall and ceiling of the gallery are covered with a brushed stainless steel where the metal creates a sophisticated play of reflections which opposes the raw character of the wooden facades. To assure optimal use of sales surfaces, galvanized steel stalls invite themselves into the spaces and have received special attention. Element singular project, the architects created "skies stalls" suspended to the frame to support a protected privacy of the general agitation.
