Hidden Fortress : Bazar Noir

The studio of architects Hidden Fortress was in charge of the development of the concept store "Black Bazar" in Berlin. For the exhibition in this place, the architects borrowed the codes set design museums.

The store features art objects, precious books and furniture. The architects designed the interior is literally inspiring the name of the shop "Black Bazar". They have chosen to realize the ground floor entirely black while the mezzanine is dressed in maritime pine. Wood was chosen by architects for its grain and naturally light in color contrasting with the rest of the place. The challenge was to maintain the same shade of black on a variety of surfaces, materials and production methods.

The centerpiece of the store is the staircase. By not resting on the ground gives a floating impression. Its internal parts are covered with the same pin as used for the mezzanine, while its outer wall remains black and is based in the volume of the ground floor.
