The 20 July in Lausanne was held the inauguration of the temporary chapel of deaconesses of Saint-Loup. A collaboration between researchers and architects, the structure of this place of worship is directly inspired by the art of origami.

Mandated to build a place of worship used during the renovation of the existing chapel, architect Danilo Mondada and the agency Localarchitecture joined in laboratory researchers Ibois of the'Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne.

Members of this laboratory have indeed developed a computer process for shaping architectural structures inspired by origami, the Japanese art of paper folding.

Result of the combination of two architectural firms and start-up ofYves Weinand et Hani BuriMembers laboratory researchers IboisThis ephemeral chapel is made entirely of wood panels. First achievement created from this computer process, it is out of the ground in just 2 months.
