Inbetween à Fukuyama

To accommodate a dental clinic, a beauty salon and the offices of his architectural firm, Keisuke Maeda UID Architects designed this building adorned with cedar plywood. Work on the boundary between inside and outside.

Located on a long narrow plot, the building is surrounded on 3 sides by neighboring houses. In this context, to isolate the neighborhood and sculpt spaces, Maeda has created 2 volumes oriented east and west and a third volume incorporating a central staircase and a semi-wooded garden. Between each volume of the interstices, between interior and exterior spaces. Breakthroughs large bay windows, facades and dialogue also offer urban and bucolic views in the very heart of the building.
