Olivier Werner Architecte : Equipement sportif à Méru

The architect Olivier Werner sign this sporting equipment on the athletics track of Meru in Oise. Athletes entry, storage and office space, construction anchors its concrete pedestal in the slope to overhang the track.

wooden structure bristling with white steel, simple and complex volume is both revealing different points of view.

Olivier Werner says:

"The equipment is installed in gazebo directly above the finish of the athletics track of Meru online. From the embankment, it appears lying on the grassy field, advancing towards the sunken empty. From the track, interrupts the turn of the slope and provides direct entry to the athletes, signaling the start line. As a tower of timing, it's main function is to ensure control of sports competitions. it also is used to store athletic equipment, to conduct medical visits, and to meet. the building responds to the program by a simple volume and a suitable envelope. the building of the base, concrete coating, is part of the embankment that borders the track and allows the storage. the meeting room, medical office and the timing post their place in a frame timber volume completely encased and covered with white steel, wide open in the corner to provide a clear view of the track. the volume of the staircase, which organizes the connection between the track, the slope and the mezzanine, form the highest part of the building. It gives rise to the construction, and in fact a landscape landmark. It is a building which - despite its small size. - Offers a variety of aspects from the surroundings "
