PDW : Patrick Blanc : L’Oasis d’Aboukir

Creator of the first green wall there over 30 years, Patrick Blanc has made Oasis of Aboukir, a green wall in the heart of 2ème arrondissement of Paris. On a surface of 250 m², a real painting plant offers the visitor on a building wall gear.

private commission, this immense garden modifies the public space by providing a green touch to the urban and dense environment. On a height of 25 meters, the researcher - botanist gathered 7600 237 feet of different species to associate in a masterly and vivid composition.

On this project, Patrick White says:

"This private control 250m2, tableau 25 m high, planted 7600 237 subjects of different species and varieties, is unique in my career. At the time I realize the highest green walls of the world that are true technological challenges including Sydney (150m) and Kuala Lumpur (200m) with architect Jean Nouvel, the 70 vegetated columns for the new Miami Art Museum with Herzog and de Meuron, or walls desert area as recently in Bahrain ... I am very happy to contribute to the well being and ecological awareness of the inhabitants of a historic district in the heart of Paris. "

The green wall Oasis Aboukir will be inaugurated on September 10 2013 in the course Archi & Design "of the Paris Design Week.
