DeA Architectes : Le Chrome

Next to the train station of Mulhouse, the agency DeA Architects installs an office building in a single volume inspired by the local industrial heritage, and whose perception changes according to the light and the position of the gaze.

At the heart of a new services center, the cuboid welcomes 3 400m2 surface on four floors of offices and four commercial premises on the ground floor. The transparent base hosting business can be opened on the square by a fully glazed façade, or enclosed by a fine metal mesh that sits down the volume on the mineral public space.

The frame and the colors yellow, blue and red siding evoke the industrial past of the city in textile printing. Offering scalable perception of the building, these metal blades also function as sunshades. The interior takes this pattern to create colorful strips of translucent glass walls.
