Jouin Manku : Alain Ducasse au Plaza Athénée

Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku designed the new face of the bar and restaurant of the Plaza Athénée in Paris. They signed a project together combining luxury codes of the establishment to subtle architectural originality.

The restaurant, run by Alain Ducasse, found himself completely transformed thanks to an entirely new vision proposed by the architect and designer. They imagine a place hustling codes of major starred restaurants in a minimalist style. There are now two restaurants, meeting within the same space: a room for the breakfast service and another for the restaurant.

On entering the restaurant, we find monumental bells in polished stainless steel, which reflect the pendants of the chandelier on the ceiling, only traces preserved from the restaurant before work. These oversized shells and surprising are the benches of record for seating customers, or screens sheltering tables and chairs. The walk inside the room to continue what designers called: the alcove. Covered with wood, it features a special table where customers can enjoy greater privacy. The structure of the space is completed by four screens made of woven metal they are made of polished stainless steel sheet in their upper part. The product still continues mirror space.
