Chartier Dalix : Pôle logistique Tafanel

Opposite the 104 and cultural equipment taken from the garden of Eole and the railway tracks, the logistics division Tafanel achieved by Chartier Dalix agency had to respond to a dual challenge: successful urban integration of an industrial building in central Paris, while guaranteeing optimum operation.

The project takes place on a 27 500 square meters site bordered by the beam rails of the East Railway Station. The logistics center has been designed as an artificial landscape of a large folded sheet forming a succession of "sheds" sawtooth roof formed of double slopes changing directions. Side street, linear and front facade 450 meters, posing as vis-à-vis the existing building, is made of reinforced glass added to an anodized aluminum skin. This stratification, including an existing blank wall, urban art support, is the first layer becomes a mirror reflecting changing the city to suit the changing light. Beside railway lines, the rhythm is punctuated by the succession of folds that descend facade, providing a kinetic vision to travelers.

This project appears strong plastic relationship with the street, its façade, based on a dialogue with the natural elements of light, the sky or vegetation, as well as artificial lighting and the surrounding frame. An architectural rhythm instead warehouses, lane side in a rhythmic movement along the entire length of the plot.
