Richter architectes & associés et aubry lieutier architectes : Groupe scolaire Simone Veil et Gymnase Colette Besson

Delivering this project, which includes a school group and a gymnasium, the agencies Richter architects & associates and aubry lieutier architects accomplish a tour de force: to make the heart beat of a ZAC that does not exist yet.

Located in Lingolsheim (67), this mixed project grouping a school group and a gym, was primarily thought according to its context, or rather of its non-context. "The site is in the background of ZAC Tanneries, in progress, dense, with buildings not determined at the time of the competition and studies, volumetrics and facades announcing quite heterogeneous", develop on this subject the designers. An issue not so novel, except that here, the land is bordered by a railroad, and that "The client showed an assertive desire to make the whole the heart of the district".

Disabilities ? Not for the architects who finally benefited by working on the voids. At no context, no project! Thus, a large public square is built perpendicular to the plot, acting as a walk to the school group and the gym. At the end of this alley, the building spreads from north to south, over the entire surface of the land. "It is a building-landscape, stretched over a length of more than 200 meters, which constitutes a support, a setting, a calming horizon that orders and federates the ZAC as well as the public space", explain the authors.

Viewed from the inside, the realization evokes a construction game, alternating concrete full volumes and open patios, generously vegetated. In addition, noble and elegant materials, such as bleached pine or glass, contribute to create a warm and incredibly captivating atmosphere, which will not fail to attract the users ... thus allowing the contractors to check the latter - and difficult! - line of their specifications.
