AZC : Centre médico-social et résidence mixte Bon-Secours

Architectural coherence, a pleasant place of care for patients and optimized working conditions for caregivers ... With this project of health center and mixed residence in Paris (14e), it is all that offers the AZC agency.

Located at the corner of rue des Plantes and rue Giordano-Bruno, in the 14e district of Paris, the housing complex Notre-Dame de Bon Secours saw its construction begin in 1875. After several centuries of work, it is now a complete architectural heritage, including several pavilions and a chapel. But, as the designers of the AZC agency explain, "From 1985, demolitions and new constructions will break the architectural coherence and disrupt the reading and use of this site", which also hosted a maternity until recently. With the transfer of this equipment to the nearby Saint-Joseph Hospital, it was decided to demolish a large part of the existing building, with the aim of installing an EHPAD, a nursery and a home. medical reception (FAM).

A vast operation in occupied site that the builders had to lead in two stages. In fact, the party for the elderly dependent and the nursery was delivered in 2015, when the second, intended to host the FAM, was born in 2017. Although separated in time and space, the two projects are treated in a global approach, in order to make its coherence to the site while bringing the best living conditions to the residents. Achievements - two massive constructions in concrete structure, one high on 4 levels, the other on 6 - are thus distinguished by their many interior patios, but also by the fact, that each time, the last floors are in withdrawal. It should be noted that the roof terraces thus created are accessible and vegetated. But all this, it is surely the designers who summarize it the best: "We proposed an architecture with functional, aesthetic and especially human qualities. Thus, the buildings are elongated, presenting a residential writing, far from the vocabulary of the hospital. "
