CoCo Architecture : 7.77

Who could believe that this mysterious parallelepiped adorned with gold enthroned in the middle of a meadow of the commune of Olemps (12) conceals in fact a hall and a library? And yet! This simple and contemporary creation, conceived by the French of CoCo Architecture, enhances the cultural programming of this village of Occitanie.

Wishing to revitalize the new town of Olemps, located in the agglomeration of Rodez, the City Council entrusts to the Aveyron agency CoCo Architecture the design of a strong and assertive project, to integrate a green landscaped site. The builders imagine 7.77, a rectangular two-storey parallelepiped with a square base of 33 meters on the sides with rounded corners, covered with gold-plated expanded metal. A simple volume with each of the four facades is open to make way for a large bay window covered with a canopy.

A sobriety found within the 1 000 square meters of floor space, which includes on the ground floor a lobby and a theater and / or reception double height , and on the floor a library. Industrial elements - exposed floors, neon tubes, technical equipment visible on the ceiling, etc. -, have been associated with warm materials and colors used for light wood elements mixed with bright pink details present on some wall walls as well as in furniture, such as the bar for example.

A compact and efficient construction, with original writing that will not fail to punctuate the life of the small town of Olemps.
