CV2A et Be.pôles : Le Barn

Only 50 minutes from Paris: welcome to the hotel-restaurant Le Barn, located in the heart of the Rambouillet forest. Le Barn, a set of seven buildings, new and renovated, produced by the Parisian agency Christophe Vergnaud Architecture & Associés (CV2A) and the decorators of Be.pôles who, thanks to the wood prefabrication process, were able to complete this project in only 13 months. A feat.

Parisians loving nature have found their new address: The Barn. A venue consisting of a 75 hotel rooms, four dorms and three restaurants, lost in the heart of 200 hectares of nature. A set also adjoined the farm Cense built in the XVIe century for Gabrielle d'Estrée - favorite of Henri IV -, today become the eponymous stud farm: an equestrian center specialized in ethology, a technique of education preferring the dialogue with the whip developed in the United States by the Horse Whisperers. For the riders or the hosts of the Barn - which are sometimes both at the same time - there are fields, pond and even permaculture zone, as far as the eye can see. Everything is done so that they feel a little like in their country residence.

"We had to come up with something that meets the green demand of city dwellers who want less and less to own a second home. " Edouard Daehn, owner

In this haven of peace, in addition to a new equine riding school in metallic structure, the three buildings of the XIXe century present on the site have been rehabilitated, including an old farm and a mill, in R + 1 and R + 2. These three buildings, arranged in a U-shape around a reception courtyard, include restaurants, seminar rooms, bedrooms, dormitories and a wellness area. A panel completed by three new longitudinal accommodation buildings up to 63 meters long, of two and three levels with terrace; all designed in a wooden frame. A prefabrication process that has made it possible to meet extremely short construction times, just over a year, and to achieve up to 250 square meters per week!
Once again, the equine reference is not far! Indeed, the gables of these contemporary works in red corrugated iron from Falun, draw their inspiration directly from the architecture of the farms - children in English - from Montana, stronghold of Horse Whisperers. It's a story.

The Barn, or a small piece of American countryside in the forest of Rambouillet.
