Alessandro Mosca : 20 logements sociaux

No more social housing hidden behind large building bars! Similar to small wooden cottages, the apartments designed by Alessandro Mosca combine charm, comfort and affordable costs.

Developed as part of the urban development of the boundary between Gif-sur-Yvette (91) and Saint Rémy les Chevreuses (78), these residences stand out in the world of social housing, and for good reason! The project, with a total surface area of 1 square meters, being installed in a wooded plot below the Yvette valley, had to integrate its wooded environment into its design and thus minimize its architectural impact thanks to to a sober intervention, closer to the residential area than to the large complex.

The construction consists of two buildings where two-sided roofs alternate, recalling the vernacular architecture of the surrounding houses. Their concrete structure is clad in self-clad natural fir-tree cladding, laid horizontally on the ground floor and then vertically, creating a streamlined dynamic. The building on the left is placed one meter lower than the one on the right, thus avoiding any opposite between neighbors.

Inside, everything is thought to maximize space. On the ground floor are two single-storey houses (T3 and T4) per block, separated by the common stairwell. These steps then lead to three two-room, three-room or five-room duplexes with stays at the first level, dominated by the spaces of nights, rooms whose surface is necessarily greater than 9 square meters regulatory Carrez law.

A sober and elegant realization!

The project is selected for the 2019 ADC Awards in the Architecture and Landscape category
