Baito Architectes : Tribune Sastre

Football fans in the city of Six Four Beaches (83) can finally enjoy the games of the local team sheltered from the weather. Designed by Baito Architectes, the Sastre grandstand upgrades the entire sports field while providing a different gaming experience for spectators.

Inserted between the railway and a ring road, the whole does not benefit from a parcel favorable to the creativity. Constraints that push designers to achieve a sober, clean but with a strong identity. Its parallelepipedic volumetry at the oblique roof reinterprets the shape of its narrow site.

The whole volume evokes brutalist constructions thanks to a materiality in reinforced concrete, ensuring a minimum degradation over the years, possibly due to the automobile pollution released by the adjacent road. The south facade is open on the ground, offering a frame of airy vision on the teams in competition.

The changing rooms are located on the ground floor, under the raised stands lit up zenith by spotlights in yellow light and diffused so that users continue to enjoy the game after dark.

A project that rhymes simplicity with efficiency.

The project is selected for the ADC Awards 2019 in the Leisure category
