Atelier Ramdam : Rateau

Located in the heart of the Rateau street in La Courneuve (93), the Ramdam workshop offers 6 social housing in a construction that looks simple but hides its share of subtleties.

Behind a black 4 high-gloss coated facade, two T1, two T3 and three T5 are concealed. With a total living area of 364 square meters, the construction occupies the entire plot and particularly heals the orientation of the different spaces. The through homes have large south facing living rooms with a garden view. The night and service rooms are, for their part, oriented street north.

The whole is accessible via a naturally lit through lobby with a refined and ethereal look. This central space offers views of a green garden that users can enjoy. The staircase then leads to superimposed duplexes separating the living space at the access level from the sleeping area, upstairs.

In terms of materials, the Ramdam workshop focuses on durability and proposes a structure of columns and beams whose surface includes wood joinery, cladding of the same nature and shutters with wooden battens. The whole covered with black coating brings coherence and cachet to all and will ensure a good aging of the structure.

Between simplicity and comfort, the Rateau project of the Ramdam workshop fits perfectly with the architecture of the district thanks to an elegant and reassuring facade.

The project is selected for the ADC Awards 2019 in the category Housing / Urban Center
