Nicolas Laisné, Dimitri Roussel, Manal Rachdi et Sou Fujimoto : L’Arbre Blanc

Inaugurated yesterday, the White Tree seems well set to embody the Montpellier (94) of tomorrow. And for good reason, it took no less than four architects to carry out this colossal project. We thus find the experience and love of the spatial geometry of the Japanese Sou Fujimoto associated with new looks associates Nicolas Laisné and Dimitri Roussel as well as the founder of the French agency Oxo, Manal Rachdi.

The White Tree is a meeting point between multiple worlds: Japan and the Mediterranean, the old and the new generation or heritage and contemporary architecture. And it is probably it is large mixity that makes this new tower one of the future buildings signature of the city of Montpellier. And the diversity, there is also in the multitude of programs cohabiting within this tower of 17 floors that combines housing, restaurant, art gallery, offices, panoramic bar and common areas on a living area of 10 225 meters square.

With the desire to revitalize the concept of residential building, the four architects in charge of the project decided to blur the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces. A desire that materializes here by a multitude of balconies and pergolas encouraging a real "live out". And with the Montpellier sun, it would be a pity not to exploit these many extensions on the outside that unfold around the central trunk like branches of unequal dimensions. Each apartment is thus equipped with a terrace whose surface varies between 10 and 32 square meters, offering views of the sea, the Pic Saint-Loup, the city or the Lez.

What to enjoy 300 days of sunshine in the city that is nicknamed "The Gifted".
