Marin + Trottin + Jumeau PERIPHERIQUES ARCHITECTES : 46 logements sur l’Île Saint-Denis

Appearing as one of the flagship venues of the 2024 Olympics in Paris, the city of Saint-Denis (93) is now a real playground for architects. The firm based in the capital, Marin + Trottin + Twin PERIPHERALS ARCHITECTS, are no exception and erect a building of 46 housing balconies wavy. A graphic achievement that testifies to the dynamism of the commune of La Petite Couronne.

Located on Île Saint-Denis, the new agency Marin + Trottin + Jumeau PERIPHERIQUES ARCHITECTES serves as a landmark in the suburban city of Paris. The project is part of the transformation of a site to the area largely occupied by warehouses, mostly disused, in an active and attractive eco-district. A complex task to which also contributed the Parisian firms ECDM and Thibaud Babled as well as the Dutch planners West 8.

The set of 8 levels includes 21 social housing and 25 private housing - some of which duplexes are incorporated on the top floor - spread across a net floor area of 3 538 square meters. On the ground floor, two private courtyards distribute the circulations and create direct passages in the complex, connecting the main street to the pedestrian lane located at the rear of the building. This same level also hosts commercial spaces and workshops with glazed facades.
Facing the Seine, the building is characterized by irregular undulating balconies surrounded by a perforated metal ribbon alternating three shades of gray. These original outdoor spaces are facing the Seine, offering quality views to the living areas facing southeast, while the rooms are facing the courtyard located in the center of the plot, ensuring tranquility to the inhabitants in search of sleep.

An achievement that announces a promising future for the Île Saint Denis district.
