Événement : Sou Fujimoto « Nature, people, architecture »

Three years after the opening of his Paris office, the Japanese Sou Fujimoto is the subject of a retrospective in the showroom of the publisher RBC in the capital's 15e arrondissement, where models and photographs of his architectural UFOs are on display. . A poetic dialogue between nature and building that is worth a look.

From the trendy building of the White Tree, perched on the heights of Montpellier, the project of the Ecole Polytechnique Paris-Saclay, the buildings signed by the Japanese architect and his associates do not end to amaze neophytes and amateurs. And for good reason, RBC offers them a second exhibition in his Parisian gallery until 4 next October.

Under the glass roof of the showroom of the furniture designer, there are about twenty models designed specifically for the exhibition, as well as a series of photos of the projects that have come out of the ground, projects in progress but also projects that have never been unveiled. Taking place around a central creation made of completely open plexiglass recalling the importance of nature in the works of Sou Fujimoto - heir to Japanese culture to which he brings a fresh look by designing new forms - each building is put in dialogue with a second model on an enlarged scale, more domestic.

"In the manner of water shaping rock, it is these, uses and nature that give life to architecture", Sou Fujimoto Architects

Among the works presented - as well signed Tokyo agencies as the Parisian agency - illustrates the thoroughness of a reflection on architectural forms unpublished. Hybrid projects like Milles Trees, winner of the contest "reinvent Paris" in 2016 last, a fully vegetated and virtuous set that should emerge near the Porte Maillot in 2022. But also the Many Small Cubes presented at the FIAC Art Fair in the capital in 2014, a futuristic landscape madness of small nomadic houses, intrigue as much as they impress.

Stunning!
