Jean-Pierre Lott Architecte : Villa Troglodyte

Capital of all madness, the city of Monaco inaugurates an extraordinary villa signed Jean-Pierre Lott Architect. Hidden in a rock nestled between two sets of housing, the house with the air of a naughty landmark combines atypical spaces, exceptional volumes and cleverly integrated light. A unique troglodyte construction.

The result of a carte blanche entrusted to the Paris office by Entreprises JB Pastor et Fils, 500's square meter has a distinct identity and an equally original story. In the middle of a set of various housing buildings, a lost rock, a natural remnant of a densely built coast. With the desire to integrate this rock in the real estate heritage of Monaco, JB Pastor & Fils Enterprises call on Jean-Pierre Lott and his teams - already largely settled on the Principality - with the only constraint to build a living space without to denature the stone. A crazy bet to which the studio responds with a troglodyte villa project. Indeed, why destroy to create when we can carve even the mass?

If the original natural element is preserved, the upper levels as well as the balconies result from the work of sculptors having painstakingly recreated the texture and folds of the rock, thus meaning as little as possible the dwelling that hides there.
The visit opens on a wooden footbridge overhanging a swimming pool with false airs of beach hidden in a cave. The sinuous contours of the floor run along an uneven water point covered with dark faience. A unique place worthy of a James Bond landmark where you would almost expect to see a tamed shark arise!
A few steps above, these are more traditional spaces awaiting future owners. Despite the buried character of the house, the living room is bathed in light and opens onto a large terrace bounded by the reconstituted rock. The smaller kitchen combines stone and contemporary furniture. The second and third floors are dedicated to the nightspaces, each of the rooms being equipped with private bathrooms and the majority also benefiting from large dressing rooms.

A luxurious property with a strong identity.
