lemoal lemoal architectes : Garden Tennis de Cabourg

Historic club of the city of Cabourg (14), the Cabourg Garden Tennis is now decorated with a new building. A classic program of cloakrooms and toilets that manifests itself in a contemporary and elegant reinterpretation of Norman architecture from which to base the overall renovation program of the site.

Integrated into the National Circuit of Major Tennis Tournaments, the Garden Tennis Cabourg is undergoing a major renovation, largely guided by the Lemoal Lemoal agency. Already at the origin of the facelift of the club house and the addition of a restaurant and administrative premises, the architects sign here a modest work of 100 square meters helping to harmonize all the structures constituting the club.

The project takes the constructive principle of the half-timbered architecture, typical of the region, and enhances the wood frame by leaving free the usually filled wood. The stripped frame offers the landscape a resolutely contemporary minimalist building without slicing too violently with the surrounding architecture. The presence of a double skin in polycarbonate reveals the work of wood and allows to create a veil of intimacy essential for such a typology.

Indeed, inside, the two cloakrooms - decorated with sanitary each - benefit, thanks to the structural principle, of an important height under ceiling where appear the technical elements and are bathed in natural light without a real opening on outside.

A realization as sober as elegant.
