Ferrier Marchetti Studio : Grand Central Saint-Lazare

The Saint-Lazare district is embellished with a new tertiary complex. Signed by Ferrier Marchetti Studio, the project stands out with a subtly colored glass facade that plays with the rays of the sun. An assemblage of poetic reflections that plays with its environment.

Located in the dense district of Saint-Lazare, the 25 square meter project includes the rehabilitation of the old 000th century railway customs building as well as the demolition and reconstruction of obsolete surfaces. The complex offers tertiary premises, an auditorium, shops, a restaurant and a foundation for contemporary art. Open to the city, the project has a terrace accessible to the public and is embellished with an urban passage and a slender peristyle forming a threshold connecting the interior and the exterior.

But the Grand Central Saint-Lazare is above all an extraordinary facade signed Guardian Glass. A contemporary tribute to the skies of Claude Monet who dialogues with brio and elegance with the historic glass roof of the station "Of which it seems to be the contemporary continuity", underline the architects. Resolutely contemporary, it nevertheless fits brilliantly with the surrounding Haussmannian buildings.

The project also tries to bring a little bit of nature to the city environment, thus creating its own landscape thanks to terraces and gardens dedicated to urban agriculture. A means of contributing to the reconstruction of fauna and flora, thus making it possible to fight against climate change.

Connections, fluidity, nature and aesthetics: these are the hallmarks of the Grand Central Saint-Lazare!
