StudioLada : Office de tourisme

The Nancy collective StudioLada imagines a tourist office dressed in pink for the town of Plainfaing (88). As part of this project, the architects, commissioned by the community of agglomerations of Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, create a small welcoming entity using local materials. Back on the history of local sustainable architecture.

Located opposite the Confiserie des Hautes Vosges - an artisanal candy factory open to the public - the Plainfaing tourist office is built in a strategic location to attract visitors to the confectionery and help them discover the secrets of the Valley of Haute-Meurthe.

Guided by the desire to develop tourist activities in the valley, the StudioLada collective designs local architecture in collaboration with artisans and professionals from the region with the aim of promoting short circuits and an ecological approach, as well as the attractiveness of territory. From the structure to the facade, all the materials are produced in the surroundings. The Vosges pink sandstone, used for the load-bearing walls, comes from the quarry of Champenay in Plaine (67), while the timber for the frame, the parquet (oak), the cladding (larch) and interior fittings ( spruce) were purchased from four Vosges sawmills. studiolada thus promotes the enhancement of the savings in place, from producer to consumer.

All curved, this small building of 150 square meters in solid stones gives pride of place to the pink sandstone of the Vosges, a singular stone of the territory. The interior, dressed entirely in wood, is also an ode to the region. The opportunity to discover, from the visit of the tourist office, the diversity of Vosges resources.

A committed architecture manifest of the local economy and territorial wealth.
