Nicolas Dahan architecte : Villa en Bois

On the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, the architect Nicolas Dahan erects a discreet wooden villa alternating empty and full and blurring the border between exterior and interior. A true ode to nature.

The 250 square meter project takes place in the heart of a forest, in a site as green as it is soothing where the songs of birds and the sound of waves rock the owners of this villa on a daily basis. An exceptional site that the architect Nicolas Dahan is trying to sublimate by opting for a discreet architectural gesture and choices of natural materials.

To do this, the project manager chooses a full-foot rectangle alternating empty and full. The loft, installed in the heart of the pine forest, is a succession of larch sections and large bay windows, allowing natural light to penetrate into the different spaces.

Inside, the residence also gives pride of place to wood. Thus, the architect put on marine plywood floors and an okoumé wall covering as well as a kitchen in oak plywood. Natural and clear tones that offer its residents the chance to live in harmony with their environment.

A haven of peace.
