a/LTA architectes : La Lyre

As part of the urban renewal process (ANRU) of the Villejean district in the north of Rennes (35), the a / LTA architectes agency has just delivered the “La Lyre” building, a set of twenty-six housing units including eight reserved for seniors, one dedicated to accommodating student roommates and seventeen dedicated to families. Feedback on an intergenerational program.

Installed within the ZAC Normandie Saumurois, the intergenerational residence called "La Lyre" is part of Villejean's urban renewal project (ANRU), and aims to promote intergenerational mutual aid and social cohesion on a neighborhood. Composed of twenty-six units divided between seniors, students and families, this set of 1 square meters offers new ways of living.

Commissioned by Archipel Habitat, the project managers reflected on the intentions, the structural sobriety, the rationality of use and the durability of the building to respect the financial constraints of the project and the specifications of the contracting authority , as well as to create the warm atmosphere of the building: "To this raster and rigorous writing, we propose a" nervousness "in the attic, evoking the typologies of individual housing, a sort of single-slanted-roof household, clad in corrugated iron type cladding", explain the founders of the agency a / LTA architects Maxime Le Trionnaire and Gwénaël Le Chapelain.

On the superstructure, the dark mineral facades emphasize the imposing vertical panels, punctuated by clear glazed passageways on the north facade and small terraces on the south facade. Illustrating the intentions of the intergenerational program, the access system by passageways ensures that all the apartments are bright - crossing or dual orientation - and facilitates meetings between generations.

On the facade, in line with the bedroom or kitchen windows, devices invite residents to green the building. Perforated natural aluminum guardrails provide residents with privacy and comfort while opening up the interior to the exterior.

With “La Lyre”, a / LTA architectes delivers an atypical, resolutely social ensemble.
