Since 4 years, the Community of communes of Lake Annecy (74) sources organizes an international call for projects in order to promote the exceptional environment and materials of the region. Entitled "The Festival of Cabins", the competition has notably rewarded the ephemeral cabin project signed JCPCDR. An observatory all dressed in wood to apprehend the wilderness of a water point like no other.

With the sole constraint of being entirely developed by the architect himself with wood from the region, the construction designed by the agency JCPCDR Architecture serves as an observatory in which the curious can discover the wild and abundant nature Lake Annecy under a brand new angle. Comfortably installed between the trees of a mystical clearing, the openwork structure consists of wooden slats arranged vertically irregularly. A clever way for master builders to filter the light so as to reproduce this play of chiaroscuro characteristic of the undergrowth.

The set offers a sinuous micro-route guiding the visitor to a platform oriented to offer a breathtaking view of the environment between land and water. The walker accesses the building via a gentle slope - matching the natural slope of the ground and providing disabled access in the standards - and under an opaque roof. A dark unwelcoming atmosphere that awakens as the "observer" progresses, not unlike the sensation of a nocturnal forest walk.

With the desire to register as discreetly as possible in the landscape, the book is intended to accommodate, in addition to the curious of the region, the fauna and flora of the natural park. "As the seasons go by, the contemporary architectural object becomes a haven for its environment, offering to observe nature and make it a complete experience. " says the French cabinet.

An addition as sober as brilliant.
