The Bassin de Bordeaux district (33) is defined by an industrial landscape at the water's edge, between architecture and nature. A special setting in which the Dock G6 fits, a mixed set with a manufacturing silhouette signed King Kong.
Located on the port slab of the Bassins à flot de Bordeaux, Dock G6 enjoys an idyllic location. Located on the edge of basin number one and along the promenade des Bassin, it is part of an industrial site where sheds, silos, underwater base and slender cranes coexist, thus forming a whimsical, raw and multiple urban landscape.
The complex imagined by the King Kong agency thus takes the form of an exoskeleton with a mixed concrete-steel structure highlighting the two basins and the industrial port panorama. Its framework, visible on the facade, and its bronze metallic mesh - from R + 2 - give the largely glazed project a marked identity, which is characterized by a classic trapezoidal plane, almost square. Games of transparency and opacity punctuate the facades, revealing the various activities of the place, and, after dark, illuminate the docks.
Welcoming the Radisson hotel developed on nine levels as well as a seminar center, offices, a large outdoor terrace, a spa and an exceptional sports platform, the Dock G6 project brings together usually isolated programs in a clear and coherent composition. served by a central hall.
A highlight of the show, the sports areas are debilitated by a large stainless steel net and offer users a panoramic view of the quays.
A most complete project.
