The commune of Longueil-Sainte-Marie (60) has been given a new multifunction complex concealing various sports equipment and a multipurpose room. A refined whole which gives pride of place to natural materials signed by d + h Architecture Environment.
On a surface area of 3 square meters SHON, the construction erected by the agency d + h Architecture Environment is designed as a large hall hosting a multipurpose room as well as a weight room, a dojo and a space dedicated to the practice of Table tennis.
Simple in appearance, the volume contributes to creating a feeling of unity between the different programs and also hides its share of subtleties. The low-slope roofs, for example, refer to agricultural buildings in the region while being part of a contemporary approach, visible in particular thanks to the offset of the ridge, slightly changing the image of the hangar and launching the project.
Here, wood is king. The vertical supporting structure is designed from wooden frame walls and CLT splitting. A process that can be found in the various interior spaces, also contained in a CLT structure. The façades alternate between bay windows, metal joinery and vertical wooden cladding. Bio-climatic, the envelope is embellished with “Lucido” sensor walls, wood-frame walls with integrated insulation that capture the heat of the sun's rays.
Inside, the architects bet on sobriety, making wood the star of the project, once again. The only element of color, the playful signage brings the touch of good humor that the structure lacked.
When sport and subtlety go hand in hand.
