The concept of hospitality in casino complexes is a major issue. The very concept of hospitality means “feeling good” in a place that is not your home but makes you feel like you are at home. The spectrum of hospitality goes beyond hotels with upscale casinos, Michelin-starred restaurants, boutiques and big brands. Many architecture and interior design agencies have this same idea in mind in order to create and design places that are both welcoming and modern in which the visitor will feel welcome. For the Pechanga Resort Casino, Klai Juba Wald Architecture + Interiors took up the challenge of placing hospitality at the center of this casino complex.

The incredible work of KJWA + I

When you look at the work of Klai Juba Wald Architecture + Interiors, you may never want to leave this self-contained world of relaxation and play found in casino complexes such as the Pechanga Resort Casino. The casino has seen an expansion of Klai Juba Wald Architecture + Interiors, and thanks to the work of the architects, its area has doubled. Today, the total area of the complex is 470 square meters: it is the largest complex on the west coast of the United States!

The 68 square meter extension includes various spaces to host conferences and events, two new restaurants, a stand-alone spa, a swimming pool, as well as 000 rooms and suites. In addition, the Pechanga Resort Casino has the largest casino floor in California, totaling 568 square meters. The casino has over 188 slot machines with games also available on online platforms like the Starvegas online casino. In addition to the slot machines, there are also 158 table games, a 38 table non-smoking poker room and ultra modern 700 seat bingo.

The challenge for KJWA + I was to merge the old with the new. The natural stone they used for the facade takes the form of majestic monolithic pillars, and the enlarged foyer now has a marble floor, which is very elegant compared to the earlier stamped concrete. In the lobby, flexible seating has also been added alongside windows, level changes, and art installations to bring a sense of privacy to this voluminous space. Mahogany and cherry wood are the rich finishes of the entire lobby. In addition, in the lobby, a 30-meter-high faceted ceiling features more than 100 metal panels that resemble cherry wood.

Inside and outside the complex, it is possible to admire a globular lighting installation that descends into the winding staircase of the spa. And in the middle of it, a set of sculptures with organic shapes refer to exotic plants. Above the pool bar, there are aquamarine umbrellas and an awning that provides shade for one of the four pools at the 25m² wellness complex. In the foyer, there is also a set of lights that evoke falling leaves and rain. In the nail salon, curtains have been added to provide some privacy. In one of the corner suites, which sleeps four, floor-to-ceiling windows have been added to offer views of the Temecula Mountains.

The development of the casino design

The work of Klai Juba Wald Architecture + Interiors does not stop there! They also collaborated with the team of "Live!" to the completion of the largest gaming facility in Maryland (United States) and which includes a new Live! Hotel and Event Center, 310 rooms housed in a 17-storey tower, flexible conference and reception spaces, a concert hall and a spa. Klai Juba Wald Architecture + Interiors gave the residences and public spaces of the residence a cosmopolitan touch and a sense of entertainment.

Upon entry to Live! Casino & Hotel, the hotel's atmosphere is both elegant and lively. To get an introduction to Live! Experience, the lobby greets people with a high-ceilinged space characterized by rich woods, waxed marble and striking chandeliers. The cafe bar is characterized by tiles with classic insect motifs, a crisp white ceiling, sparkling glass gloves, and sunny yellow walls. The 4000-seat complex features a grand ballroom, an integrated stage, and state-of-the-art sound and lighting technology.

The hotel spa also includes five luxurious treatment rooms with private treatment areas that allow guests to escape and relax. For art lovers and curators, if ever they come to spend some time at Live! Casino & Hotel, they will be happy to see that the property features the collection of artwork collected from the owners of the hotel, which includes works by Andy Warhol.
