The hut festival is an architecture festival. It questions us about the relationship we have with nature. How to settle there? What relationship should we maintain with our landscapes, with our environment? How do we find our rightful place? It seems that these questions are deeply topical. The cabin festival as a new beginning, a way of looking to the future.

Since 2016, the territory of the sources of Lake Annecy has organized its annual architecture competition: The Festival of the huts. It rewards original cabin projects selected by a jury of architects. This event, between Architecture and Landscape, aims to raise awareness among all stakeholders on the issue of the large territory and how to settle there.

The notoriety of the Festival increases from edition to edition until it attracts architects or architecture students from all over the world. Candidates of more than 20 different nationalities have already participated. The Festival des Cabanes showcases the area of ​​Sources du Lac d'Annecy and Haute Savoie internationally with panache. It is also a unique opportunity to talk about architecture, the living environment, planning, organization, the quest for beauty for all and living well together. This event is open to the world but also perfectly anchored locally with the mobilization of many inhabitants, institutional, economic and associative actors of the territory.
