Nestled in the Laurentian forest of Quebec, this residence is a composition of volumes with soothing and balanced proportions, which, on winter nights, sparkle through the woods like a lantern: hence its poetic name...
The architectural assembly is spread over three levels over an area of 420 m² facing a large mountain and a pretty lake. An idyllic landscape where the refined construction presents itself discreetly by concealing its accesses and only partially revealing its interior spaces. The volumes create a gentle horizontality that hides the scale of the house on approach. The dark cedar cladding, whose hue oscillates between stone and bark, lets the object blend gently into the natural environment.
Inside, woodwork and white walls provide a warm atmosphere for residents enjoying a breathtaking view of the landscape.
In addition to the usual functions of a classic house, this residence designed by MU Architecture has all kinds of services: wardrobe, sports locker room, training room, children's playroom, double garage...
Everywhere, the clarity of the materials increases tenfold the light that penetrates abundantly into these rooms. Cantilevered as an outdoor extension of the kitchen, the west-facing, lake-view veranda houses its own wood-burning fireplace and kitchenette.
An exceptional creation in the woods of Val-Morin signed MU Architecture.
