Bordalo II : Wild wild waste

Two weeks ago was held in Las Vegas (USA) Life is Beautiful, a festival that is both musical, culinary and artistic. The opportunity for the Portuguese street artist Bordalo II to panic social networks with his work Wild wild waste, a zoo set up in an abandoned motel and whose menagerie consists neither of scales nor balls of hair ... but of waste.

It is not his first attempt. Artur Bordalo aka Bordalo II has made a name in the world of street art with its tags, but even more thanks to its frescoes depicting animals. His favorite materials? Old tires, boards, bike wheels or pipes that the artist finds that-and-there. A way for the Portuguese to denounce over-consumption and overproduction of waste of course, but also to represent all the abandoned and neglected, whose potential only needs to be revealed, if we take the trouble to look at them from another angle.

On the occasion of the Life is Beautiful multidisciplinary festival organized in Las Vegas from 21 to 24 last September, Bordalo II was able to see things even bigger than usual, thanks to the support of producer Justkids and specialized Zappos. in fashion. Housed in an old abandoned motel of the City of All Sins, its zoo has a lion, penguins, wolves, pandas and even a whale size (almost) nature! An Ark of Noah 2.0 that we never tire of watching, but we know too much if we would like, or not, that it survives the flood ...
