Chloe Sells at Miranda Gallery
The Franco-Australian gallery owner Miranda Salt immerses us in the dreamlike world of the American photographer Chloe Sells (born in 1976). This monographic exhibition unveils a recent series which brings together photographs of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans taken by Chloe Sells during a stay in the Kalahari Desert, in Botswana. Each work exhibited at the gallery is a unique chromogenic print retouched by the artist. After the development, in the darkness of the darkroom, Chloe Sells drew on her prints in acrylic, ink or felt, worked on different textures, cut out uneven shapes. The result is very poetic works which, in a profusion of colors, are close to abstraction.

Olivier Masmonteil at the Thomas Bernard gallery - Cortex Athletico
Thomas Bernard organizes the second personal exhibition of the French painter Olivier Masmonteil (born in 1973) at the Thomas Bernard gallery - Cortex Athletico by showing the way he conceives landscape and painting. On the occasion of this event, Olivier Masmonteil reveals the secrets of his painting which transforms the painting into a medium for his memory. In some of his works, looking like old postcards, there are scattered memories of his stays in Madagascar and reminiscences of the landscapes discovered in New Zealand. Thus, the hanging, thought and matured jointly by Thomas Bernard and Olivier Masmonteil during the period of confinement, retraces the various artistic practices, the reflections and the research of the artist.

Fabian Albertini at the Molin Corvo gallery
With Beyond Seeing, the Molin Corvo gallery exhibits for the first time the photographs and sculptures created by the Italian plastic artist Fabian Albertini (born in 1965) on the desert. The exhibition, imagined by the gallery owner Roberta Molin Corvo in collaboration with Fabian Albertini, focuses on four overpainted photographs and three iron sculptures produced between 2018 and 2020, and reveals the themes addressed by the artist in his art: relationships between man and the environment, spirituality, perception, movement. The photographs of the desert combine geometric elements with an environmental space, while the abstract or geometric sculptures evoke memories of the desert landscapes visited by the artist. The event ends on Magneticsphere, an unrealized project, currently seeking funding.
