Given the health crisis, cultural venues are currently closed. At this very special end of the year, Muuuz looks back on five exhibitions that marked 2020.

Christo and Jeanne-Claude. Paris! at the Pompidou Center
In 2020, the Center Pompidou devoted a retrospective to the couple formed by Christo Vladimiroff Javacheff (1935-2020) and Jeanne-Claude Denat de Guillebon (1935-2009), highlighting the most emblematic works of their Parisian period.

The middle is blue at the Palais de Tokyo
At the Palais de Tokyo, the German visual artist Ulla von Brandenburg (born in 1974) has created fictional marine and rural worlds where she gives a great place to the imagination. Orchestrated by Ulla von Brandenburg in collaboration with curator Yoann Gourmel, the exhibition invited visitors to immerse themselves in the dreamlike universe so particular of the visual artist.

Dimensions of Reality: Female Minimal at the Thaddaeus Ropac Gallery in Pantin
At the Thaddaeus Ropac Gallery in Pantin, the Dimensions of Reality: Female Minimal exhibition showcased fourteen pioneering women artists in geometric abstraction, long in the shadow of their male colleagues. Placing these female artists in the history of abstract art, and more broadly in the history of art, such was the object of this unprecedented event.

Erwin Wurm, photographs at the European House of Photography
At the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, the exhibition Erwin Wurm, photographs, the first major retrospective devoted to the photographic work of the Austrian artist Erwin Wurm (born in 1954), invited to discover in images his absurd universe, and his sculptures too funny than reflective.

Night at the Henri Cartier Bresson Foundation
Conceived in collaboration with the kamel mennour gallery, the Nocturnes exhibition at the Henri Cartier Bresson Foundation presented an unpublished body of work by the Spanish artist Marie Bovo (born in 1967): photographs from five different series, all taken at nightfall, magnifying deserted cities and deceptively depopulated spaces.
