From April 7 to June 4, 2022, the works of Philippe Dupuy invite themselves to Rupture Arts & Books. For the occasion, the bookstore-gallery is opening up to comics and exhibiting one of its best ambassadors: Philippe Dupuy, to whom we owe the famous Monsieur Jean series with Charles Berberian, and the recent volumes Paint or Do not paint.

To invite a graphic and metaphysical reflection on paternity, filiation and the love of art: this is the ambition displayed by this new exhibition by Philippe Dupuy.

Thus, about twenty drawings taken from his latest book "My Papa draws naked women" (Dupuis / Aire Libre editions), alongside recent series of cyanotypes and images taken with the left hand, mixing photographs enhanced with gouache and in ink and texts written upside down.

The representation of the female nude, the quotation of artists and the rereading of works from modern and contemporary heritage as well as the use of collage and text considered as drawing connect all these sheets together. Artist, draftsman, heir and smuggler, Philippe Dupuy has made beauty and transversality his playground and expression.
