Lighting the streets with our used batteries is what Energy Seed, developed by designers Sung Woo Park and Sunhee Kim, offers. Waste collection and energy optimization, their new concept of urban lighting is doing double duty.

L'Energy Seed is a floor lamp concept that not only allows the collection of used batteries but also the use of the residual electrical energy they contain when we throw them away. The base of the luminaire is indeed provided with holes corresponding to the diameters of most batteries on the market. The passer-by has only to insert his used batteries there to get rid of them. The device will then take care of combining all of the residual energies thus made available to supply the LEDs of the ring of light which surmounts it.
