Nortstudio : Urban shapes

Our public spaces sometimes have bad press: chaotic urbanism, urban furniture of poor quality, lack of comfort, exacerbated security logic, etc. They can, however, turn into a source of inspiration. This was the case for Belgian design studio Nortstudio with his bench Urban shapes, resulting from the joyful combination of primary forms that surround us.

The work of the Antwerp-based designer duo is inspired by the public space and certain elements that compose it, which we do not always see, so much our eye is used to it; or whose beauty is no longer measured. Yet, assembled, highlighted and in color they find all the power they lacked. Take a concrete post, a circular metal sheath, a square section beam, and a grating, reinterpret them in wood and metal, energize them with Majorelle, terracotta, and light pink shades, and you will get the vitamin collection Urban shapes ! With its squared volumes at the top, to ask independently or to connect as you please with a metal grid, the range adapts to all desires and all spaces.

"A growing city is a source of inspiration constant, like the raw forms and materials scattered around the building sites, waiting to be used and to fulfill a function. By decontextualizing them and combining them in a completely different way, a special tension is created. " Nortstudio

A range that gives back their place to forgotten people everyday.
