VIA : Incubateur French Design

Since 2016, the French Design Incubator encourages collaboration between designers and manufacturers and publishers in the creation of hexagonal furniture. Embodying the art of living and French elegance, creativity, eco-design and cultural openness, the 12 projects selected for this third edition will be presented from September 5 to 27 November at Galerie Le French Design by VIA. In the meantime, the Muuuz editorial has looked at some of these amazing associations!

Aequo x Camille Khorram
Associative publishing house, Aequo tends to value the designers, companies and know-how of the Hauts de France. A love of the North shared by designer Camille Khorram, based in Lille (59). Because if she graduated in 2011 Decorative Arts in Strasbourg, she moved to 2015 in the capital of Flanders and teaches design in parallel at the School of Applied Arts and Textile Roubaix. It is therefore natural that their work, which manifests itself in a lighting collection, celebrates the cultural heritage of the region.

Emmaus x Férreol Babin workshop - Ionna Vautrin - 5.5 design
The Emmaüs Workshop, publishing house of the Emmaus Movement, combines design, social impact and environmental objectives. A strong positioning in the world of furniture that values both the object and the user. On the occasion of this 3th edition of the Incubator, Atelier Emmaüs feeds on the talent of the rising stars of French design: the 5.5 studio founded in 2003; Ferréol Babin, former resident of Fabrica, a Benetton-based research center based in Treviso (Italy) and winner of a Red Dot Award, the Designs of the Year 2014 award organized by the Design Museum in London, or the prize "Talent à la carte" by Maison & Objet; and Ionna Vautrin, laureate of the grand prix of the creation of the city of Paris and at the origin of the new lamps populating the TGV. An association that announces only good!

Boqa x Margaux Keller
Convinced that in addition to functionality and aesthetics, design must be a source of emotion, Margaux Keller is a touch to all the sensitivity exacerbated, a poet with golden hands who no longer counts prestigious partnerships - Yves Saint Laurent Beauty, Cartier,, The Paris Mint etc. Proud of her multiple hats, she is now, in parallel with her activity as a designer, at the head of the publishing house Bibelo. Today, alongside the Boqa brand, the designer is evolving, a firm whose 100% "made in France" products have seduced design enthusiasts all over the world.

The Manufacture of Design x Fred Rieffel
A Parisian nursery for the talents of tomorrow, the Manufacture du Design encourages young artists by offering an exhibition space in its 600 square meters showroom. This year, Fred Rieffel, at the head of his studio based in Strasbourg since 1998, will benefit from this momentum. Favoring a design called "heritage" in the era of rapid consumption, his work has already attracted prestigious publishers and manufacturers such as Cinna, RocheBobois or Habitat.

Sokoa x Bruno Houssin
A real institution in the Basque Country, Sokoa is specialized in high-quality tertiary foundations, always enhancing the know-how of its region of origin. With many collaborations with renowned designers such as Iratzoki and Lizaso, the brand is now associated with the Parisian designer Bruno Houssin that the company affirms its presence in the French landscape of tertiary furniture.

Other collaborations will be presented in September at the exhibition dedicated to the achievements of the French Design Incubator: Casadisagne x Linda Bayon ; Desras Studio Briand & Berthereau ; David Lange x Olivier Bacin / LABO ; MICA Gallery x Pierre Charrié ; the iRESISTUB x Bastien Chapel ; Sanijura x Thomas Merlin.
