Sofia Alvarado : Welcome Back

Priestess of refinement, interior designer Sofia Alvarado of the Panamerican studio Fi unveils Welcome Back, a series of sculptural furniture with vibrant colors that smells of summer.

Panamanian designer Sofia Alvarado adds a touch of softness and femininity to her new Welcome Back collection for Studio Fi - which she herself launched in 2014. Attached to the authenticity of the craftsmanship, the designer has surrounded herself with local metalworkers for the manufacture of her as airy as delicate pieces.

Hand-worked from thin, twisted, smooth metal stems, their structures mix with different materials. Lacquered wood is inviting on the armrests and on the seats of stools and high chairs, while velvet and full-grain leather decorate the chaise and armchairs, giving them comfort and elegance.

Dressing tables, as well as magazine racks and pedestal lamps look like origami complete the range of furniture also featuring a monumental paravant. On its four sides come colorful mirrors and opaque glasses, alternating between empty surfaces and solid surfaces, in order to protect looks or redraw a room with a look.
