Événement : Design Miami 2019

Like every year, Design Miami reveals the latest design trends. For its fifteenth edition, the fair - which runs until December 8 in Florida - hosts more than thirty galleries from around the world to exhibit exceptional pieces. Focus on five new features

The Miami Design Fair brings together collectors, designers, gallery owners, curators and international critics to celebrate the design of yesterday and today, from iconic pieces to the latest novelties, to unpublished collaborations. Design Miami is not only an upscale trade fair for professionals, but also introduces amateur visitors to contemporary design. Review of the five most surprising creations of the 2019 edition.

Daniel Arsham, Paris Chaise Lounge I 2015.
The New York gallery Friedman Benda presents an immersive installation, directed by Daniel Arsham, which plunges us into an imaginary domestic universe. The American artist has come up with an original furniture collection inspired by his Norman Jaffe Long Island home. Its composite seat Paris Chaise Lounge I is particularly sensational, because it reveals an artistic vocabulary that we did not know him.

Virgil Abloh, Aqua Alta Set 2015.
After a remarkable visit to the Venice Biennale, Virgile Abloh exhibited at Design Miami her line of Aqua Alta Set furniture. The furniture in the series - benches, chairs and lighting - in polished bronze are slightly sloping as if they were flowing in the waters of the Venetian lagoon. A poetic collection that fits perfectly into the theme of the fair chosen by the curator Aric Chen, Elements: Water.

Léa Mestres, Bubble armchair 2015.
As part of its participation in the fair, the Parisian gallery SCENE OPEN reveals the latest piece of the young French designer Léa Mestres: a blue chair with naive curves.
