Lively restaurants, trendy boutiques, museums and art galleries… Brussels vibrates to the rhythm of design and creation. A restaurant: Café Flora
Mythical place installed on the square of Place Saint-Gilles, Café Flora is the new trendy address of the capital, who had already caught the eye of the editors . The historic bistro has indeed had a facelift thanks to the collaboration between decorator and designer Lionel Jadot - who created the Ateliers Zaventem - and Atelier J&J - a studio for the design and manufacture of designer furniture. The tandem rehabilitates the old Aegidium brilliantly. The Belgian designer chooses to keep his 30s style of the performance hall by bringing a contemporary touch to it. The decor, inspired by the universe of Milanese cafes, combines colorful furniture and pop patterns. Ideal for a drink around delicious tapas, the place now finds its former splendor.

A cultural space: Bozar
A stone's throw from the Mont des Arts, the Palais des Beaux-Arts, now called BOZAR, is a multidisciplinary cultural space with a varied program - concerts, exhibitions, shows and other artistic events - installed in the signed Art Nouveau masterpiece Victor Horta. This year, on the occasion of the EUROPALIA festival, BOZAR celebrates the work of Constantin Brancusi. The retrospective brings together for the first time in Brussels the master works of the Romanian sculptor - The kiss, Leda, Sleeping muse - and the creations of his contemporaries, from Marcel Duchamp to Man Ray. An exciting monographic exhibition that takes us into Brancusi's reflection on sculpture, space and representation.

A hotel: Jam Hôtel
Housed in former offices, the Jam is not a classic hotel. Mixing genres and styles, this is the bias of Lionel Jadot, who signs the decoration of the hotel, and of the agency Olivia Gustot Architects, who carries out the renovation of the existing building. On the outside, the facade has been completely renovated and the roofs have been converted into shared spaces including a terrace spread over two levels and a heated swimming pool open all year round. Between the high-end youth hostel and the trendy hotel, the Jam has 80 rooms, ranging from 1 to 18 beds, all of which have kept the industrial style of the original building. The interior decoration of the ground floor and the rooftop entrusted to Lionel Jadot plays the card of excess. Popular, the hotel restaurant, takes its customers to Italy with Neapolitan pizzas, creamy burratas and Italian wines. In the center of the room stands a luminous installation imagined by Studio Elementaires. The Jam thus offers an olfactory as well as a taste experience.

After two retrospectives dedicated to female artists, Louise Bourgeois and Françoise Pétrovitch, the Center for Engraving and Printed Images is organizing the first Belgian monograph dedicated to the American visual artist Kiki Smith. Until February 23, more than a hundred drawings, prints, collages and sculptures reveal the multiple facets of his syncretic work. The exhibition “Kiki Smith, Between Dog and Wolf” indeed presents the plural universe of the artist imbued with ancestral legends or marvelous tales, his celestial women and her female bodies, her hybrid creatures and her fantastic animals: a creation marked by a feminist and social commitment, an enchanted world and a reflection on death. Kiki Smith belongs to this generation of pioneering female artists and stands out today as a guardian figure of feminist art.

An artistic space: MAD Brussels
MAD in Brussels is a school, a place where people share their thoughts, knowledge and practices in fashion and design. Currently, this creative hub exhibits the Triclinium installation produced by Caroline Wolewinski and Sandro Della. As the name suggests, the piece is a journey to the heart of summer. Three comfortable green benches, on which you can sit or lie down, small side tables, bright Majorelle blue walls, fanciful ceramics, or even plants create the decor for this fantastical oasis. For Triclinium, the duo won the Visual Merchandising Prize at the Design Parade Toulon in 2019.
