Talin Hazbar : Lithic

The Syrian designer and architect Talin Hazbar draws his inspiration from past civilizations, experiments with raw materials and signs pieces of organic furniture. The stalactite suspensions of his latest collection "Lithic" pay homage to the folk tale The Creature Cave, whose plot takes place in the mountains of Khor Fakkan and Fujairah (United Arab Emirates).

The suspensions of the "Lithic" collection are modular travertine structures, which stage the Emirati folk tale The Grotto of the creature. Talin Hazbar chose the form of the stalactite to represent the habitation of the mythical hybrid being and artificial light to symbolize its power.

These lights are referenced objects, whose modularity calls upon the imagination of collectors. Each suspension can indeed be adjusted to suit the buyer, and thus tell his own interpretation of the story. By integrating the viewer into the creative process, Talin Hazbar places great emphasis on inventiveness.

Pieces as surprising as they are creative.
