A Gatineau in Canada, the collective Ekip has done for this artist center Axenéo7 wooden fence 30 meters in length. Thick and functional unit and meets the fence instead of dividing.
As part of a reflection on vacant lots entitled “Cohabitations: common measure?”, The Ekip collective suggests with this fence transforming abandoned spaces into “potential platforms for timely encounters”. The fence which usually marks a border here becomes an interface. The boundary thickens and becomes a place in its own right, a space for meeting and dialogue between users.
Collective of young designers and architects graduated from the University of Montreal, Ekip consists of Thierry Beaudoin, Sinisha Brdar, Nicolas Marier and Mark Pope.
