Namuun Zimmermann and Martijn Rigters practice conceptual design through research carried out in two stages. There is, on the one hand, their work on the concept and, on the other hand, their experimental approach to object design. Between Vienna and London, the founders of Studio Sain are shaking up design codes. A creative daring deployed throughout their various projects.
After meeting in London on the benches of the Royal College of Art, Namuun Zimmermann and Martijn Rigters founded Studio Sain in 2018, and have since carried out projects in the fields of design, research and education. Always simple and thoughtful companies which have allowed them to collaborate with prestigious structures and to stand out internationally.
Simple and sculptural, the objects of Studio Sain attest to an economy of means and a conceptual thought. Approaching the creative process as a sensitive research, the designers design original pieces that stand out for their atypical aesthetics.
Jack-of-all-trades, the studio has already produced several pieces of furniture on the way to becoming iconic, such as a side table made of anodized aluminum sheets (Dee Table), sculptural mirrors (Fade Mirrors) and curved lamps (Bulbous).
