"The collaboration with designer Pierre Cabrera on the Tulip lighting collection is above all a story of friendship, born from the meeting of two craftsmen and their worlds. Dressing the Tulip pendant lights with a noble, natural, warm, lively material and unique like leather, is an invitation that cannot be refused! "
Amalvi Pimenta Sauvage, traveler, fascinating and jealously kept secret for a long time, the tulip is an emblem of beauty, symbol of love and passion that has inspired many poets and artists ...
A leather with character was essential: mineral tanned bull leather, full grain semi-aniline. Its natural grain, its hand, its flexibility, its smoothness, its unique silky touch, its resistance to daily aggressions and its wonderful elegant nuances make it a remarkable and rare leather.
These exceptional skins come from the Rémy Carriat Tannery, recognized today by the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label, for its expertise of excellence which it has maintained since 1927, in Espelette, in the Basque Country.
Created in 2013 by Amalvi Pimenta, leather goods maker, trunk maker and designer, Atelier O'nolan produces unique pieces, made to measure and small series. The love of beautiful work, traditional French know-how and the quality of the materials used contribute to the creation of exceptional objects for a demanding clientele.
"I like to work slowly, take care of the smallest visible and invisible details, and take advantage of the difficulties and challenges of crafting each piece to grow and deeply understand what some people just call the intelligence of the hand."
Tulip lights were pre-selected for the French Design 100 Awards. They will also be present at Christie's in London.
