Designed by Elisabeth Redmond, the Powerleaps floor tiles are producing electricity when subjected to pressure not. A full research promises.

These floor tiles like no other are the result of work begun by Elisabeth Redmond during his studies in the University of Michigan.

Imagining interfaces allowing the human body to generate electrical energy, it has designed these slabs 50 cm square provided with piezo-electric components converting the electricity pressure.

On such a floor covering, the pedestrian not become a source of energy. A product still in development but certainly promised a great future in public and urban space.
